The guy is a statistician, I'm sure he's put in whatever is relevant to convey that picture. Almost all of us sitting at a desk reading this is immeasurably better of than our ancestors two hundred years ago. Most of our ancestors two hundred years ago had the choice of working and surviving, or not. Our income is astoundingly high compared to theirs, and not because of inflation...
