Recently picked up (for my first mame project) a lowboy cab that had been gutted of everything except the monitor.
The chassis has "Nanao KB24033ID" screen-printed on the pcb, and there is a sticker near the flyback transformer thing that says "KAGA ELECTRONICS" with a model number "KZ-18EN-h"
The guy I bought it from reckoned the chassis doesn't fire up at all and had never worked while he had owned the cab. I have absolutely no way of testing (I have no isolation transformer and no game pcbs) nor any idea what might be wrong with it (I'm no electronics expert). Oh, and I'm in Australia (240V AC), and the chassis says "110V" quite clearly near the AC cord :)
I had already bought a brand new 21" open frame vga monitor for my cab and will probably just replace the old monitor with this one.
But I'm thinking it would be a waste to just junk this chassis without at least some attempt at getting it to work ;D
Any suggestions? comments?

Well, I have never heard of that brand, but I assume that you will need an isolation transformer in order to fire it up. That will cost money.
You could probably apply voltage to it and see if you get a glow or any other tell-tale signs of functionality. If no, you wasted the money on a transformer. If it does, you'll need to send it a usable signal.
You can probably use a JAMMA board or whatnot. But you'll need to spend money on the boardset, a power supply and a JAMMA harness (unless you hardwire it) which will cost money.
Unless you have money to burn, I suggest that you pitch the thing... but I suppose you could keep the chasis "just in case".
