Title: Pics of your Media/Server Closets
Post by: 2600 on December 13, 2010, 01:25:41 pm
Just got the basement finished and am trying to get some ideas of how to arrange my Media/Server Closet.

Before the basement was finished, the house was installed with a small rack similar to  this  (http://us.startech.com/product/4POSTRACK12-12U-Adjustable-4-Post-Server-Equipment-Open-Frame-Rack)mounted to the wall.  It currently has 1U plates for phone, coax, and network drops.  I also purchased a small 2U server to mount in it.  Now that the basement is done, I was looking to mount the rack in the closet and add some shelves, but the rack just doesn't seem right for the situation.

Filtering through different ideas, including adding a LV panel and shelving and was curious what everyone has in theirs?  Post pics if you got them.

I have a rack for gear in my theater - the doors are usually closed, but here is what it looks like

Its changed a bit since the pic - comcast box replaced with second HD Tivo, new DVD cubby where 5u blank plate is

I also have some open racks in the wiring closet next door with some patch panels and computers mounted up, but no pics I don't think

The wiring closet is probably more of what I'm interested in if you find some pics.  Thanks.

Mine is a non-walkin closet with a bakers rack for shelving. Nothin' special. Movin' along....
