Title: wanted: 25 inch tri-sync monitor in the uk (for a decent price)
Post by: gazz292 on December 09, 2010, 01:59:46 pm
i'm not sure i like my hantarex polo 2 monitor, the shadow mask is just too wide for my liking, as i sit fairly close to the monitor, and hence everything is very blocky, i also have a bit of work to do on it's chassis,

so i'm thinking of getting a better monitor,

i'd like to get a tri-sync monitor, then i can run a decent resolution for the front end, and hopefully have a much narrower shadow mask and thus less blocky pictures.

all i seem to be albe to find on ebay and arcade shop sites in the uk are brand new tri-syinc monitors, for around £300, and they are all larger than 25 inch, think i may be able to fit a 27 incher in my cab (golden tee 1999, zeon cab)
does anyone know where i can get one second hand?? anyone got one to sell?

well, i was laying down when i read the price, does that count.

i can get a 2nd hand 28 inch polostar for £190, but dont really want one as they are not digital settings, i.e. every time the frequency changes, the vertical and horizontal size, position and hold pots will need twiddeling... so i may as well get a 31khz monitor, and make mame stretch/compress the games to fit, then i may as well not have bothered with the AVGA card.

i guess my other option is to find a scrap cab with a tri-sync monitor in it, and the person selling it not knowing that the monitor is worth something.
