I've looked around on here for a nice list of the best games for a Xbox 360 in an arcade cab. I couldn't find a solid one, and if there is please show me the way.
If not, this is what i've got so far (mostly fighters), some I have, some I still need to get. I have omitted older/less awesome releases of some games.

cannot confirm, my copy is still coming down the pipe. classic controller support for Wii confirmed, so i think it'd be a no brainer(hopefully).

Mushihimesama Futari (Highly Recommended)
ESPgaluda II

-
Ikaruga is over rated, but also don't forget Triggerheart Exelica.

what about Virtua fighter 5?, can anyone confirm the virtua tennis games??
-
pretty sure there is a virtua tennis for 360
otherwise just get the newest topspin game
-
Does anyone know how those games run on a 4:3 crt screen ? (streched or not)
-
all 360 games look just fine on 4:3
i'm still using a 29 inch sony with mine, looks great.
-
MK vs DC Universe plays well with arcade controls.

truth, same setup here. all look sharp. vertical wide screen for shumps would be great though/.

well it works with arcade controls, not sure i would go as far to say "play's well" :lol
-
I think it plays fine. You just can't really do the 3d movement, which you never do anyway
-
i meant more cos its a crappy game...wouldn't play well on anything... :afro:
(ignore me, being a dick)
-
Fairly new release on Live Arcade... Torchlight. Kinda has a Gauntlet feel....

Nah a vertical 4:3 is what they were on originally, so a vertical wide screen would just give you black bars or distortion.
-
Bullet Soul (Japanese but also region free vertical shmup) is being released in about a week. You will need to import it though.

wasn't that overhead xbox live tomb raider game arcade like? head good things about it.
-
From what I remember, that tomb Raiders game was like the console version of baulder's gate, except it controlled like smash tv or geometry wars... with both analog sticks. Personally I'd like it even less on a cab.
Unless you are sporting two analog sticks per player.

Took some titles from this topic, anyone have more?
Xbox 360 or Xbox 360 XBLA games Playable on a cab
-
Mortal Kombat 9
Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection (XBLA)
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition
Super Street Fighter IV AE
TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled (XBLA)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (XBLA)
Xmen(XBLA)
Hard Corps:Uprising (like contra) (XBLA)
Final Fight: DblImpact (final fight and Magic Sword) (XBLA)
-
TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled (XBLA) actually got yanked from XBLA. I still have my copy but I am pretty sure its never coming back.
-
That sucks I love that game, I guess I will have to get it by other means....
-
radiant silvergun on xbla now
-
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but i was wondering if anyone had some updates to this good list. i'm just getting my xbox up and running in my cab. looks like xbox arcade's techmo bowl works really well. same with 1942: joint strike.
anyone have other good, new options?
-
Mvc: origins, dungeon fighter, dragons lair is out too haven't tried it though
-
I can't believe they haven't been listed yet, but The Simpsons Arcade game and Final Fight are both on XBLA. Final Fight comes bundled with Magic Sword, which is also epic. I can't remember if Trine 2 is playable with the D-pad, but I remember it being a great coop game.
-
If you have 4 controllers and a cab that is online (stupid indie game restrictions) there is a XBLIG called Chompy Chomp Chomp which is kind of like Pac Man Battle Royale, only with different power ups and more free roaming.
-
Couple more Xbox arcade games I found tonight: metal slug 3 and shank 2. Shank uses a ton of buttons, but it's pretty awesome.
-
None!
An arcade cabinet shouldn't be wasted on console games.
-
90% of the games are arcade ports, its not really any different from mame, while I prefer original hardware anyday over either, 360 makes a great arcade platform. Old and new games for cheap with online capability is pretty awesome imo
-
yup, personally, i like having the best of both worlds. just picked up mortal kombat 9 (awesome), but my cab also plays the first one.
-
While I think it is one of the weakest ports on the x360 due to screen config issues for use tate folks, Guwange is one of my favorite shmups ever.
Another important aspect to these ports worth mentioning is which have arrange mode that is worth playing. For example, I really enjoy the x360 arrange mode of ESPgaluda II.
-
megrog mentioned these two, but:
scratch SFIV, get IVAE
Third Strike online is great, hard to choose if I prefer it or IVAE
Also:
Blazblue Continuum Shift II is out, and the next one is on the way
Mega Man 9 and 10 are great with an arcade stick
Super Meat Boy is too
If your cab can display 240p, you might want to look into using an Extron Emotia or UVC to force things like Third Strike or Mega Man to 240p. Looks great for Third Strike, but Mega Man 9/10 will look better with this method on the Wii.
-
Cant believe this wasn't mentioned, super puzzle fighter 2 turbo hd remix.
-
meh, puyo puyo is better
-
Chronoblast is a great, vertical arcade style XBLIG (it can even be rotated for a full screen 4:3 screen) for 80 MSP: http://marketplace.xbox.com/Product/Chronoblast/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550cbb (http://marketplace.xbox.com/Product/Chronoblast/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550cbb)

Protect Me Knight (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/%E3%81%BE%E3%82%82%E3%81%A3%E3%81%A6%E9%A8%8E%E5%A3%AB/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802585504f8) is pretty boss. Its four player couch coop that reminds me of the first Final Fantasy's classes and some light tower defense when building barricades and catapults. What you see in the screenshot is the entire level and is based around waves of enemies that might include a boss.
