I remember dabbling with MAME a little bit back in college about 6ish years ago. I didn't do much with it, but I remember installing it and playing a few games for a couple of days. I hadn't ever thought about it again until a few months ago I ran across some little snippet about it somewhere on the net. Somehow, I managed to come across this site and see all you guys building cabinets from scratch. I WAS HOOKED!
I did a bunch of reading and started planning out my cabinet. I told a buddy at work about new discovery and he was instantly hooked to. Before I ever got out of the planning stages, he had a functioning cabinet built!
I took my time, researching and planning. Here's a quick pictorial guide that's led me to where I am today. (I'm 90% done)
I used the plans from arcadecab.com, but modified them a little here and there to suit me and my needs.

Looks like it's turning out well! I'd be worried about those screws holding in the MDF.

how do you like that tv? are you running through component cables? is it acceptable for vertical games?
-
The TV works great! I love it. I have it hooked up via S-video. It's so big, it looks great on both horizontal and vertical games.

Hehe yeah. That's what many people don't seem to get (judging from the mini screens they have behind their humungous 4 player control panels): a big enough screen erases the need for turning it when you want to play vertical games. That's one of the things I love about Candy cabs: most of them have big-ass screens.

:applaud: Looks Great! I have to agree with you on the huge TV and SVideo, I did the same for my Cabinet and it does Look great horizonally and Vertically! The most fun of it all too was to take my dremel and hack the tv like I knew what I was doing! :laugh2: Great Job!
