Does anyone have the newest version of these emulators working on XP 64?
I only had the 32bit version of windows when I set up my mame pc.
Since then, I picked up a copy of XP 64, but didn't want to redo everything.
The hard drive died over the weekend. :'( (I have a backup image :) )
While waiting for a warranty replacement, I installed XP 64 on a smaller drive to experiment with.
I'm amazed at how big of a difference it's making on processor hogs like NFL Blitz.
I can't seem to get Demul 0.5.6 (x86) or NullDC working with it though.
I already updated DirectX and Visual C++ Runtimes and it made no difference.
Only the previous version of Demul is available in x64, but that version didn't support the driving & light gun games that I want to run.
I thought XP 64 could run all 32bit software and the only issues would be drivers.
Everything works fine on my main computer which runs 64bit Vista (which is locked to my mobo, so I can't ever upgrade :banghead: )
If I know someone else has it working, then I'll keep tinkering.
If not, I guess I'll just wait for a new x64 version of Demul.

Came across this post Badmouth and I'm in a similar situation looking for some help on Demul. I had been doing some research on the demul forums and apparently the new version (5.6) will run fine on a 64-bit operating system even though it is the 32-bit build. How did you make out with this? I had version 5.5 running smooth but would really like to upgrade to the 5.6. Unfortunately, this is giving me a lot of troubles........... :banghead:

It's odd, but it's the netplay plugin. It must be installed.
I think I had to manually enable it in the ini file also (or maybe disable it?).
After that it worked, but then I got a DirectInput error when it launches on my driving cab.
(It's related to FFB, so if you don't have a FFB device hooked up, you might not get it)
Once you press "OK" everything works fine.
I never did get that figured out. I ended up disabling the error sound in windows and writing an autohotkey script to hide everything with a black screen and press ENTER to get past the error. I'd forgotten the error was there until someone PMed me asking about it. :lol
I don't have this problem on my other setup that uses XP32 and has no ffb devices.
