Title: Playstation emulator advice needed
Post by: frontiers1983 on December 05, 2010, 03:39:29 pm
Im trying to get the espxe emulator running, but im having issues. need advice from someone running these on a true crt arcade monitor. are the graphics on the psexe emulator pixelated on a true arcade monitor? my lcd monitor runs resident evil 1, but its blocky...is this cause i have a suck graphics card? my pc is old so is this the reason? what im also wondering is if i get the arcade vga card, do u have to erase the pc's drivers or keep them? how would play station games run without the graphics drivers? in a nutshell, what do ps1/2 games look like on a crt monitor and how powerful of a graphics card is needed?

"but its blocky"

You're running PS1 games, what do you expect?  Have you ever seen a real PS1 in operation?

yeah, you don't need a powerful graphics card. Play around with the graphic options and graphic drivers. See if one of them looks nicer to you. I know that epsxe has some options to smooth over some of the jaginess, but it'll still look block.  I haven't used espxe on a crt monitor though.

If you don't want blocky try the ps2 emulator or nintendo gamecube emulator.
