He has had two harddrives of mine for over two years now and he won't reply to any PM's. Has anyone has correspondence with him? I can't get him to reply and it's going on a year now. I know he's no Harpal, but I am certainly starting to feel scammed! They were new in the package and I just wanted them mailed back, but he never has and now I'm scared he's been kidnapped. I would think someone who has donated over $200 towards Freebox would get some common decency if he is indeed okay.
Barcrest....................are you okay buddy? ???

See what I mean? I'm worried about the guy. It's gone on three days here and no reply. I'm ready to call the popo to make sure he's okay. :dunno

I heard that Barry has denounced the technology lifestyle and joined a monastery..... :dunno

It's a conspiracy! :spam:

I got the extract same issue when a person have tried to contact me around a CDG player (where I have not used this forum for month, due other activate nothing due arcade and jukebox, but iPhone game).
I guess he just nost use this forum anymore, or very barely use, and concrate on his own forum instead (which I just understand, which is much more important). Recently I even see a new demo for few month ago (only few month ago I think), which I still get news email about.
So why not have tried to contact him there?
PS. I guess he leaved this forum, because some person "scam" this software, as the best jukebox software, on each thread when there was some jukebox application recommered, even the person wanted something different (example a arcade, singles or button based jukebox). This something I really hate and got tired about it, but this is nothing Barcrest fault at all, Since he really never have do that by him self and well respected here.

He won't respond anywhere. He hasn't replied on Facebook, his forum, or here. I'm worried to death that he just kept my $300 worth of harddrives and is acting like if I just go away it will be all better. Either that or he was kidnapped!
The last correspondence I received from him was 14 months ago and he stated to not worry and that he wasn't keeping the drives. But I got to tell you guys, it sounds like he is just stealing my property.
What constitutes an acceptable amount of time? I mean, this isn't good for me is it? I hope he's okay and not just ripping me off.
I just would appreciate if he would reply here so I know he's okay and that my property will be coming back to me. :'(

Its OK to want your stuff back, but the "hope he's OK" bit is sounding real fake.
Good luck!

He might not be replying but he's been on here.

Was there a hint of sarcasm in there? Well I hope he really is okay.

See, I believe he's okay, but why won't he respond? I think I've had a pretty good standing on this site. I've only been on the bad side of a transaction once. Many years ago, "TheNasty" was waiting on payment from me for coin mechs and I continued to delay then we ended up not making the transaction. I was in the wrong on that one and have had tons of good transactions since.
Barry, what is the deal? That is, if you are indeed okay..................

Seems to me Barry is fine and darted with your stuff. :dunno
Hope I'm wrong though.

It's been almost ten days! Could someone check and make sure he is okay? He won't reply to my PM's and I'm certain something is wrong because he wouldn't just steal my stuff would he? I mean, c'mon, it's Barry.... :dunno

He's right, it does sound fake.. we know he's okay since he's be logging on and been pretty active, so no need to say hope he's okay. Anyways, yeah man, I wonder what your legal rights would if he kept them.

It's only 13 days until Xmas and I am hoping that he responds before then. I think Santa still keeps track..........right? Right?!

Well if he mailed him the HDDs then he will have Barry's address. He can call Barry's local Sheriff Department and have someone knock on his door.

For someone that has donated over $200 to a guys project, has promoted strongly and backed the project here, and at various other forums, etc, etc, etc. Has bent over backwords for the project...(could possibly be his biggest financial backer). I think he has the right to be concerned about the guy. I fully believe mccoy is genuinely concerned about Barry's well being. At that point, how could you not be? Those saying that the concern isn't genuine for whatever reason... get a life, seriously dude.

Thanks DK.
WhereEaglesDare: He lives in the UK and I don't know if he has a home or not. He has moved once or twice since I've met him.
In regards to my sincerity about his health, it really is none of your business. But to entertain you and to keep this topic near the top, I would relate it to having a brother who owes you money. You want your money, but you also want to make sure the son of a ---smurfette--- is okay. I've always considered Barry a hippy type, but never a crook. I paid for return postage when he said it was too much, I've complied at every turn and don't know what else to do other than ask for a public appearance and explanation. Oh, and my drives back.

Dunno we could find out I guess, but I think he sent them to me to fill up with MP3's and Music Videos and I'm pretty sure they might have that sort of contenct on them when he shipped them to me looking to do some sort of illegal swap of files. So of course we could find out what the legal standpoint on this is, I'd be more than happy. Also McCoy is certainly not the biggest supporter of Freebox and I seem to rember at one point he was giving away licenced versions of my software because he thought it would be ok because he had donated some $$$'s before.
Anyway somewhere McBleeder said I owe him $300 worth of drives so next week I'll paypal him $300 and post back here with the transaction number and I think we can then cosider this closed. If i was really planning on ripping him off for a couple of 1tb drives i would have mailed him back an open box or at least said i had mailed them back and they must have got lost in the post or some other ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow---. In reality I just haven't bothered doing anything with them as they have US power supplies so it was no a case of plugging them in and coping his WAREZ and sanding them back it would have involved decasing them from their enclosures opening up my PC and the like. McCoy has done a drive swap with me before and he got his drive back, that was when he sent me one with all the mame roms on and a load of pinmame stuff and the like. Next time i post in this thred will be to confirm that i have paypalled him, --cream-filled twinkie--.

Think the rest of this can go to PM ....
