Title: Need help adjusting WeiYa
Post by: redfivexw on December 01, 2010, 05:08:04 pm
I just installed a Wei-Ya 820H monitor chassis on an old Wells Gardner 19K4901 monitor.  I have installed a lot of the weiya chassis and really like them.  this tube, however does not want to cooperate with me.  I have a great picture, but the picture is just a bit too wide (vertical mount).  I have adjusted the vertical size all the way down as far as it will go, i tried switching the  normal/wide wire (normal was smaller), but it is still just a bit too big.  Is there any other way to get the picture smaller.  i need to make it about 10 percent smaller and it will be perfect.

what are we driving this monitor with...

a computer?

JAMMA board?

nintendo?

i'm thinking there is a slight mis-match on your yoke causing this.
possibly a computer video driver issue.
resolution mismatch?

more info will help. i don't particularly care for these chassis. usually they aren't bad but sometimes the traces get busted up in shipping. check them out.

I like the chassis, i have installed quite a few of them with little issue.  this is a genuine arcade board going in.

likely a resolution mismatch. can you try another board of a different resolution??

standard, medium or high res? pick a different one. maybe just a slight tweak of something can fix it. post a pic of the issue... it is worth many words.

if you provide much info regarding your setup, perhaps we provide much assistance.

sounds like a slight mismatch with the yoke, the frame on the wei ya chassis should state the yoke tolerance range
my guess is that you vert winding is out on ohms by some way
i have seen resistors added to the yoke to counter this on some monitors in the past
