Post by: drecain on November 30, 2010, 04:23:04 pm
Hello everyone, im just about ready to get started on that Juke!! Ive made my list of things ill need and have been purchasing and now im just wondering how to mount down the pc parts all everything. Since the parts will not be in a tower case but inside the box im having built, can anyone post pics or give suggestions on how to keep everything mounted down on the inside?

Mount the parts wherever you have the room.  A motherboard can be mounted on the back of your case or on the bottom if it is large enough.  Drives, amps and other parts can mount wherever you have room.   I use metal strapping to mount drives and power supplies but you can also use L brackets or fabricate you own mounts.   The motherboard should be mounted on spaces so it is not directlly on your wood or mdf.  Spacers can be bought at a hardware store or made of pieces of a Bic pen cut to size.  The MB has to be raised so there is no strain on it and for cooling purposes.   You also need room for the metal part of any added cards that slide past the edge of the motherboard.

Below is a picture of the inside of a bartop I recentlly made.  The amp and drive mount on the back door with the motherboard on the bottom of the cab.   The MB could just as easily been on the door with the amp and drive on the sides of the cab.

THanks Bob, do you have more pics of your juke i could see?
I see you bought it from Pete, did it come with the button holes on it like setup for joystick, because that wont be needed for a juke.

The bartop runs juke software but was basically built as a MAME cab.  There are no holes on the CP for the kit it is all up to the user.  All my pics are in the Kit Bartop thread.

Here is a link to my very old bartop page where I used a decased monitor and a keypad for control. Not many pics but it was very tight in the box with the old monitor.

I use a USB plug in DVD drive or USB hard drive when I need to load.   For smaller changes I use the network.
