I'm from Green Bay, so thats a short enough drive. BUT, sadly I am beyond broke right now after finishing my second arcade machine. Why couldn't this auction have happened like three months from now when I've had time to save up some money!
That ferris wheel is just screaming to be put in my backyard. :)
-
I would like to go, but like most here I too am Christmas broke (plus the  car died about a month ago). GF and I went there about a year ago, and it was fun. Seems like in the time since I was there last they got several different machines and there are definitely several I'd like to have. I am from the Appleton area (for now, with a move to TN in the next year)

Yea the timing is sure good for buying though- I went last year to a super auctions around the same time and the games were going cheap compared to earlier in the year. That's coming up too-

West Allis, Wisconsin

:badmood:  Another one I can't afford to go to. Went to that also last year with my oldest nephew. But they also had trainfest, and we accidentally got in line for that. :laugh2: I was like WTF are all these people wearing conductor outfits. But we eventually got there! I might just go to SA just because, not that I can afford anything, we'll see.

Lucky it's an hour further than I'd be willing to drive on a Saturday morning, otherwise I'd have to go and spend money I don't have on a hunting game I'll rarely play.
-
Heck, I wish I had known about this place before they closed. I work only about 4 miles from there. Lots of good games listed.
-
I'll be at that West Allis auction if anybody wants to meet up...planning to get there early as I can (coming from an hour south in Racine)
-
Some nice classics there. I would seriously think about the Tempest and Crystal Castles.

I will be going with my 11 yr old nephew. Can't afford anything,, but will be a great time. Jeff I'll be wearing a t-shirt that says "Back In The Day" with pac-man chasing a blue ghost. Anyone else want to meet up and say hey?

I'm not sure if I can make it or not. As far as $$ goes, I think working games can go as low as $100 or so. A dad bought his kid Shinobi for $150 last time. I've seen some really good deals is the past. A Double Donkey Kong in a beautiful cab went for $250, a Original working Space Invaders went for $100. A nice Super Sprint 3 player went for $175. Last time the prices were kind of "high" but who knows.
-
When I went last time a year ago, hardly anything went for less than $500, IIRC. Either way it was expensive. That would be great if things went for as low as tommy is saying.
-
I'm mostly going for the experience though my wallet can be swayed if the item is right - looking for a Street Fighter 2 cab, any capcom stuff, or anything else that strikes me.
Would love a killer instinct or Mortal Kombat 2 but I just don't have the room for it, flat out.
-
Jeff,
There is always room, no matter what. Just get rid of GF/wife/SO stuff. :laugh2:

Looks like this will be a no-good for me most likely. We are expected to get 3-6" of snow for sure, with some places getting 12". Unless the storm takes a sudden and magical turn away, I'll be stuck at home shoveling snow just to get to more snow to shovel. :badmood: :banghead:  :censored: :timebomb:

It's going to take a big snowstorm for me to miss this, so I should still be there...but if I wake up Saturday morning and it's a blizzard then obviously I'll reconsider...play it by ear.

Big snowstorm, right before Christmas- This is the perfect time to go, you get rid of the casual guy who pulls up in his Escalade to find a unique gift for his kids. Less people should equal more deals, especially on the fix-it-up-er's. For the ride home you just have to bring a tarp (or 2) :)

Got the auction about 45 mins prior to start time, had a blast. The selection wasn't amazing (a lot of hodgepodge dynamo cabinets, bad conversions and beat up stuff) but a few gems here and there including an excellent condition Thunder Blade mini-upright (which I won!), a great condition Mortal Kombat 2, neo geo 4 slot and some others. A so-so time crisis 2 cabinet was the one I really wanted to get but unfortunately I just don't have the space for a cab that big.
Most cabs went from between $150-300, nothing was too crazy expensive except for a new-ish multicade cab. The pins went for crazy expensive prices ($1500-3400). There were also pool tables, slots and redemption machines.
Some pics below - did anyone else make the trip?

I was not able with the storm and an 11 year old nephew. Although we did spend the day playing games on the PS1 emulator. There didn't happen to be a space zap or hard driving there by chance was there? Hope I can make the next one (although I am moving to TN sometime next year), the prices definitely sound like they were cheaper than last year. I plan on going to the Chicagoland show in April though for sure.
