I have a WG980673 monitor that arcs(see video) as soon as I turn it on. Can someone tell me what is happening and what I can do to try and fix it?
-
Sorry I forgot the link: Arcade Monitor Chassis Board - Arcing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1nK9FHZoKE#ws)
-
That is surely a WG 7901 board. 980673 is just the serial number not the model.
-
your looking at a new flyback there.
-
Is the flyback specific for the model#? Were is the cheapest place to get one? Any help for a newbie would really be appreciated.
-
they develop cracks and leak/arc high voltage
where you from? perhaps there is a local place you can get one. else you can order one online. Is there a label on the actual flyback? like 053X0528-001??? you'll need the actual number as often they changed parts between runs. i have a bunch of these u2000 /k7000 series chassis and ALL the flybacks are cracked. it's common.

Get you flyback and a cap kit from Bob Roberts.

Just got the flyback desoldered from the board and it was a 53X0528-001. Hopefully Bob Roberts has one. Thanks for your help guys.

good good, you'll want to get a cap kit too. they are only a few bucks and will eliminate literally 100's of potential problems.
