Hey all, I have recently been working on gathering the essential to build my first MAME cab and was really interested in having illuminated buttons. I ordered a button of each make and as I suspected, I'm a jap fan, I've used sanwa in the past for DJ hardware but unfortunately they do not make translucent buttons, so I gave seimitsu a try, the y feel great, have maybe 1-2 mm more travel than sanwa but still perfect IMO. I noticed that lizardlick has a drop in LED board for them, but I wasn't sure if this would be a good alternative over just tapping a 3mm hole and placing in my own LEDs. I'm not scared or unfamiliar with electronics and want this to be perfect. I plan on using a PAC-Drive to push them either way so any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

Def use the kn-serts on ll and use an fgwidget board from ll as well to power them!

I was planning on using a pac drive to power them instead of the FGwidget because I wanted to have a random play pattern when not in game, and then when in game have only the operation buttons lit. ie, atari emu would light one button, SF would light six, neo geo would like 4, etc

[This (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=93936.msg1072708#msg1072708)] is the method I'm using to light my Seimitsu buttons. All the other mods I have seen either have LED spotting or bleed light to the surrounding buttons.

If you are connecting your LEDs to your computer and want to program sequences etc I would suggest using a LED-Wiz rather than a Pac-Drive simply becuause a Pac-Drive can only turn LEDs on and off at 100% and 0%. A LED-Wiz can light them at various stages of intensity so you can program fades etc.

Thanks, I guess i didn't read enough, I was unaware of the difference. so yes, an LED wiz will be pushing my LEDs.

Who knows, one of these days months years I may actually have a cab to put them in :)
Btw, if anyone does want a Pac-Drive I have a cheap one for sale.

You must have ordered the cab from Dave! (Sorry but after reading the above statement that was the first thing that popped into my head.)
