sorry this isnt about a FE or related software, but thought i'd ask here as people may know the answer.
over hte past 6 months i've noticed almost every forum that has a standard post box like this one does, when you type a post thats longer than the length of the box, and it starts to scroll, it does a maddening thing....
as you type, it shows what your typing, but when you stop typing, it jumps to the top of the box, it seems the longer you type, the worse it gets, getting almost impossible to read what your typing as it's jumping back to the top every letter you release,
you can scroll back down, and it'll stay there, untill you type one letter, then it jumps back to the top... this is just the view, the cursor stays at the bottom,
but trying to select text to delete/alter is almost impossible, as it jumps to the top of the box, dragging the selection upwards,
anyone know what causes this, and a way to fix it, i noticed it about 6 months ago, when we went to win7, but it also does it on my mame computer which is running XP, and my dads computer running vista does it now, hence i think it's either forum related, or internet explorer related... thos my GF uses firefox on the laptop (os is win7) and she says it does it on that too.

Only does it when using internet explorer for me.
(and it is annoying)
I haven't had the problem with Firefox.

If I know I am going to be long winded I type it in word and copy and paste.

This happened to me with IE7, in later times. Indeed, it is maddening. I have no issue with IE8.

In IE, click the compatibility view button (broken page icon)

Well bugger me sideways, that compatibility view thingy works, i kinda wondered what it was for, never clicked it before, infact i hid it as i couldent figure out what it was for.
Cheers.
