OK, so last night I did all the wiring on my cabinet. Now, what I'm working on now is my second cabinet. Back when I made my first cab, I had never done any wiring before. So it was a learning as I went sort of thing. But I got it done and it continues to work great today. But although apparently functional, it's not the best execution. I'm almost embarrassed to post this picture on here, but I will anyway.
Here's the wiring on my first cab, which I do intend to fix up some day...

Wires everywhere!
Then while I was having fun playing my arcade, I've also been watching this forum, and learning for about a year. It's just amazing how much you learn just watching others!
Here's my wiring on my new CAB:

I've seen some amazing wiring work on this site, and I know mine doesn't even compare with most of those. But its a marked improvement from the first time around, so I am very pleased. It's super solid and everything works great with it. Very good for me.
But this just got me wondering if there was a thread on this forum where everyone posts a picture of their CP wiring? If not, there should be one. I love wiring pr0n :)
So if there's an existing thread, let me know. Otherwise, if not, you should post a cp wiring picture on here!

What are you using those terminal strips for?

I have a LED Wiz, and all my buttons are illuminated. So that's how I am taking my 5v power and splitting it to all the 22 lights. Are there other ways of doing it? This was just how I learned, and it does work well at least.

nice, but which one would be easier to rewire :D
For illuminated buttons (simple always on) do you need an LED whizz or is the normal wires enough to light them

There is a thread [here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=75568.40)] with a couple of examples in.

:) partially true. But while you might initially think that the first one be easier to re-wire, I don't think it would any more. There's simply too much wire, not enough labels, and it's just a mess. Sure in the second one I might have to cut a few zip ties to replace a wire, but that's easy to do and zip ties are cheap. I basically wired it up and tested it out extensively and everything works great. My hope is that I won't have to do any re-wiring at all. We'll see huh.
About your LED Wiz question, if you want the buttons to be permanently on, then you can just use the normal wires. But if you want buttons that flash and a bunch of other amazing things, then you need a LED Wiz. The Led Wiz allows you to, say, light up only the appropriate number of buttons needed for a particular game. That and lots of other stuff.

Thank you Franco for the link! Your LED Wiz enclosures are simply amazing! I'm not worthy! :notworthy: And Mountain work is just crazy too. Not sure I'll ever be THAT good myself, but I love seeing others work!

Nice work markronz. The first pic made me chuckle. One would never guess the same person did both panels!

Thanks! Still room for improvement, but I'll take it! :)

Do you have the lights on the led wiz programmed to change color? do the patch panels work with changing colors? Great Job by the way!

I have the red illuminated Ultralux pushbuttons from Ultimarc that I am using. So my LEDs are just red color only. So I can't speak from experience about the color changing. But from what I know about the subject, the color changing stuff is handled by a RGB drive from GGG. This information is from their website:
Power Specifications for RGB Drive:
+5v DC (Indicated by RED wire), up to 60ma (20ma per color)
3 GROUND lines, one for each Red, Green and Blue.
So it appears that RGB drives still would only need a single 5v line. So you should be able to use the terminal blocks (patch panels) to do that. It's just that each button would have three ground wires that would hook up to the LED Wiz instead of just one. If I'm wrong on that, someone correct me. But I don't think I'm wrong.

My guess would be grounds

He answered my question just below where I asked it... ;)
And no, not grounds. :P

Correct, not grounds :)
The grounds are hooked up using a daisy chained wire.
