well i just finished her up, slight change of plans. I had the 22" lcd in and the angle at which it was installed looked horrible so i had to go with a 17" crt. tell me what you think?? to plain?? just fine?? some criticism is welcomed

Looks good! Open it up, I wouldn't mind seeing how you mounted the monitor. I also wouldn't mind seeing more exterior shots. I rebuilt a williams cocktail a while back and I went with a vertical monitor layout and a 17". Personally, I like these cocktails as much as the midway model. Very solid.
I don't want to derail your thread, but I thought you might want to see a pic

Yes... I painted it black. The woodgrain was too rough and so was the kickplate. I also went with a generic Arcade Classics theme, but if I were to keep it, I would've done something more custom.

here's some pics, not the best ones though. i'll take some more

Very cool - so you painted the wood grain too? Looks great. You may want to put some kind of bezel (even some black construction paper) to hide the monitor bezel.
How is your glass held on?
-
the glass is tightly fitted into the groove, im in the process of making some clips to hold it down. the Control panel was a pain in the butt, the original doesn't give you much room to work with. I had to remove the laminate as it was badly damaged.try and take more pics, hey leapin which monitor did you go with a crt or lcd, because i tried to fit a lcd and it was just too long

Good call on the CRT.

looks like you been busy. nice work on the cocktails. i can say i never even thought about building one of them.. but now one of them would not look half bad out in the living room. heh. anyhow.. i can say iv never seen a red tent before. its a interesting idea.. im guessing two monitors and you play the other person.. thats the concept right or are the separate.. one game per side.. seems silly not to have them connected tho. but i guess if you needed to save space in your arcade that may of been a good alternative.
anyhow look forward to see what happens with the red tent.

Jealous about your Nintendo VS Red Tent, been looking for one to get for years can never find them for less than 500 dollars.
Very Interested to see what you do with it, just dont change it to much. Have fun.

Nice job on the cocktail!
I like the simple clean lines.

Just had a street fighter cab drop in my lap acouple of weeks ago, which is almost done. should have a vid on the way. cant decide if i want to start the red tent or a cocktail. i allways wanted to do a Apple style cocktail, white and clear...will see...
