I just recently performed an s-video mod on my Sega Genesis. I currently am still using it with a bread board because I am having a problem finding a suitable panel mount s-video connector. I figured it would be an easy part to find. I found one at svideo.com but have heard about alot of issues with them. It seems like all the other ones I've found were bulkheads, meant for plugging s-video cables in both sides.
if anyone knows where I can find one, I'd love to know.
thanks

just goto radio shack, they got them in several different sizes, you can use a knife or razor blade to make it smaller if you need to.
-
no, Radio shack everything else I needed for the job but the panel mounted s-video connector.
-
do you mean a svideo connector that is already attached to a PCB board?
-
No, I'm talking about a chassis / panel mount one like the attached pic.
one side is female for where the cable plugs in and the other side is for the solder connection of the wires into the pcb circuit.
I have only found them at s-video.com and I have only heard bad things about that company.
I attached a pic.
It really seems like an easy part to find but I can't find them online with Parts Express, Jameco, Digikey or anywhere.
I went to Radio Shack and they didn't have them either.
:dunno

Id give them a call...

Mouser has everything.
Give them a call and try to explain what it is you need and they will give you the part number...

yeah, you're probably right. I checked the mouser web site and couldn't find it but if I contact them, maybe they could help.
thanks
