Title: i finally fixed my u2000 monitor. (Sort of.)
Post by: mvsfan on November 12, 2010, 06:43:31 pm
It was recapped and everything was fixed except for one thing. It was way way too dark, barely visible in fact.

So after a long period of time, someone clued me in that R811 could be bad. So i replaced that resistor, and it is working great now, sort of.

I still cant quite get it bright enough for my tastes, without causing the colors to bleed.

it doesnt seem to be possible, from what i have tried, to turn up the contrast, AND adjust out the bleed.

any ideas? any more bad parts i should look for?

Have we checked and properly adjusted the B+?

a low B+ can cause all sorts of issues.

also try tuning up the screen control. (black screen - turn brightness to 1/2 and turn screen control up until the screen just starts to turn grey. then turn it down a little until the black is just black again.

you may have to try and turn up the color gains to get acceptable brightness. these tubes where crap and get dim.

Your tube needs to be rejuvenated.
