Title: Is there a way to sort games by control type? Anyone have a list?

I want a list of games that are sorted by control type, or at least containing the control type so I can pop it in to a DB and suck it back out.

The list [ http://www.mame.net/gamelist.html ] doesn't have control type listed.

If anyone can supply me with a list, I will clean it up and report a nice excel spreadsheet so that it can be sorted easily.

My reason for needing this list (in case you are on the verge of posting the info or not ;) ) is:
I've gone through the mentally stenous task of deciding what my CP should look like. Like everyone else, I've toyed with ideas like 2p vs 4p, trackball? spinner? 4 way joy? 101 admin buttons? etc.

I've come to the conclusion that most of the people who will play on the cab besides myself will be totally lost with an array of controls to choose from. Easy solution you say: build it modularly. Sure, but how do I keep the game list seperated by control type?

When someone comes over and says "Cool! Heavy Barrel! Can I play it?" I don't want to say - "sure, just  let me swap control panels here. BTW, did I mention that I wired these up with parallel cables to ease the swap?"  Now the person wants to play pac - let me swap in the 4 way CP.

It sounds cool, but in practice, it will suck.

I only want the cab to have 1 control panel and a set of games that works with that CP. That way any game a person sees can be fired up without having to know anything about how the cab works.

...AND...it gives me an excuse to make more cabs :-)  one for each control type (spinner, trackball, dual joy, etc) - which brings us way back to the task at hand: anyone have a list of games that has control type?

I put the data from that online list [
http://www.cosmicbreaks.com/images/arcade_stick/Controls_0.60 ] into a database and have pulled it into an Excel spreadsheet.

Now it is much easier to sort...I know the list is outdated somewhat, so I would appreciate any modifications/updates. Please post them or email them to me - DO NOT CHANGE THE SPREADSHEET AND SEND IT BACK TO ME.

I am storing the data in a database, and updating the spreadsheet will not help me because the data is normailized and uses keys for the different tables. Just write down what changes need to be made and I'll change them in the DB, then create a new spreadsheet from the updated data.
