Title: What the hell Marvel!?? Or should I say Disney?!?
Post by: Mikezilla on November 04, 2010, 01:45:43 pm
I cant believe they cast Chris Evans as freakin Captain America. The dude was Human Torch in the god awful Fantastic Four movies! What casting director has their head so far up their ass to do this!!? Drives me nuts. I was bummed, that movie had potential based on the script I read. Then I saw Joe Johnston was directing it too, and thought "There is no way Im gonna waste 12 bucks on this trash"  :banghead: :banghead: :timebomb:

I hope Thor doesnt suck though. THAT would be a bummer...

Chris Evans got JACKED for the role. I dont mean someone stole it, I mean I think hes been living in the gym for the last 5 months. The fantastic four movies werent bad because of the characters, the stories just sucked. I rather liked his portrayle (I cant spell) of Johnny Storm

If you mean 1 person being 2 different people.. Rebecca Romijn was Mystique in Xmen and Joan in the Punisher /nerd  :lol

Well damn it, he BETTER be! He isnt even blonde.  I suppose youre right, about the FF movies, but thats the whole point, to tell a story. He was decent. You dont go to some ---smurfy--- Johnny Storm to Captain America!!! They should have got a no name dude to play him.

Holy hell ok you got me there, how could I forget her in the Punisher remake?!?!  :laugh2: :lol

Dolph Lundgren is dead to me.  There IS NO Punisher remake.  There is only The Punisher, made in 2004, with Thomas Jane.  (No Ray Stevenson.  No Dolph Lundgren.)

I never saw the latest one, War Zone, where the dude actually looked like the Punisher. How was it? Bad I suppose, considering your love of Thomas Jane. The only good part of that movie was when his family got killed. That was a good scene. Wasnt Jigsaw in the newer one too?

It was awful.  Stevenson can act, but the Director obviously hadn't read up on his source material.  The storyline was amazingly bad.  I loved the 2004 version because it had great story, great Direction and believable performances.  (Ok - action a bit over the top, but please.  The guy had his family murdered, and was borderline psychotic/suicidal.)  Thomas Jane was tapped for the sequel, but because it went through a bunch of rewrites and such, he saw the quality of the script and passed.  He even went so far as to say something the likes of, "the fans deserve better, and I won't be part of something that the fans won't like - because I'm a fan too".

Jigsaw was so poorly mishandled, it was ridiculous.  His backstory in the comics was good, but instead, in the movie, they chose to give him the "Joker" treatment.  A quick scene to say "omg he's mangled now" and that's it.  And don't get me started with Wayne Knight as Microchip.

I disagree with your point of the 'good parts' in the 2004 version - Garth Ennis had written some amazing material in the comic (the Russian, for example) that was translated to screen.  Those fight scenes were pretty good.  Frank got his ass handed to him for the most part - as would be expected - but in the end, his luck prevailed...  That, and the hanging Jimmy Duka scene.  I howled at that.  It was great.

Chris Evans played another comic book character....

He was Jensen in that awful movie "The Losers"

Edit: Oh, duh, he was also Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim.

I agree. I didn't like the villain (because of the actor playing Doom) or the story but I thought the other actors were fine.  Especially Evans.

I dunno, I thought the same thing at first, but as I see more about it I think he might do okay.

Plus, how can you go wrong with Agent Smith as the Red Skull?

He isnt blonde. MAKE HIM BLONDE ITS SO EASY!!! And he better be YOKED.

Yeah, Hugo Weaving for Red Skull should be cool. At least he has a neat voice.

And he better not be that sissy skinny buff, like defined. I want mass muscle here. I want him to LOOK like a super hero.

Har har NO.  ;D Im just sick of everyone being all lean, and afread to look huge.

Hm. Not too bad I suppose. That would be cool if that was the pre super soldier serum, and he has more mass as Cap.

What does that come out anyway?

Supposed to come out next summer, a couple months after Thor.

I've set myself a reminder: "Don't sit in front of Mikezilla at the Cap movie."
