All I'm looking to do is create an XML file where every single game someone can choose works. I'm at my wits end. I'm about to have to hand delete 1400 bad ROMS. I ran CMPro and it fixed a lot of files, and informed me of the bad ROMS, but left the bad ones with missing files and stuff. After I ran CMPro, I ran ROMlister, and it made an XML that was better than the original, but nowhere near perfect.
My question? How do I create an XML list that just works. Everything works.
I'm running Hyperspin and Mameui32

sadly, you might have to actually locate a better rom collection that matches the version of mame you're running, or downgrade your mame to whatever version your rom collection was based off when you got it.
i really thought that cmpro would have been able to isolate zips with missing files somewhere else; that's the crux of your problem. you have incomplete zip files mixed in with your good/complete ones.
there's talk of a program called romvault. don't know what it does or how it works, but just heard about it this morning. maybe it'll do something useful.

Sigh yes I know. Well CMPro put the incomplete files in the backup folder. I deleted those, but there's still games that just constantly say missing files like most of the CHD games. The Metal Slug's won't work no matter how many times I install them. Battletoads won't either. It says they're all missing files. I think it's mostly CHD games. This thread was my last effort. I downloaded the first MAME set of 8000 games I found on torrent. That was before I even started my cab. Perhaps I'll find a better one.
