Title: Daytona USA sound problem
Post by: SuttumLikaPimp on October 28, 2010, 08:58:16 pm
I just purchased a Daytona USA Limited Edition game. The price was right but there is absolutely no sound.  Im a complete newb this is actually my first cab so go easy on me.  I'm just curious where I should start troubleshooting this thing.  The guy I purchased it from said that he thought it was the volume nob thats located in the coin mech door. Thanks in advance!
Matt

Check to make sure your speakers are hooked up correctly.  See if there is a volume pot that needs to be adjusted.

This is more of a restoration section than a repair section, so you may get faster responses by posting here (http://forums.arcade-museum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14).

Thanks for the response.  I dont really know much about these things at all.  I have been planning to build a Mame cab for awhile now.  I just came across this daytona usa and said why not?  After checking the inside out and tracing some wires I found a buss fuse that needed to be replaced.  I started the machine back up and now I have sound but it sounds like a garbled up mess.  the speakers are def working and the volume control works but there are just a bunch of sounds that have nothing to do with the game?  Not to sound like an idiot but what exactly is a sound pot?
