Title: Arcades / Pinball halls around San Antonio?
Post by: jasonbar on October 26, 2010, 04:18:48 pm
I'm going to a conference in San Antonio, TX in January.  My company will be buying my tickets soon.  Any arcades or pinball locales that I should frequent?  Anything grand enough to warrant an extra day for my visit?

Thanks,
-Jason

we have a few arcades but nothing wow about them really. I don't think we have any pinball halls sadly.

Thanks, Jim.  Tell me more about this guy w/ a couple hundred EMs, please.  A private collection?  A business?

Schertz isn't far from San Antonio.  Is that a private collection or a business?

Thanks for the info & invite.  I shall respectfully pass, it seems that I shan't have much time away from the conference to go on a road trip--if there were something in San Antonio, that would be doable, but a road trip wouldn't work out.

Thanks,
-Jason

Wherever the hell QBertWPC lives these days, he's got all the new Sterns.  He's also about 3 hours out.

Amarillo is about 9 hours away from San Antonio.  ;)

I have a CSI, 24, Avatar, and a Cirqus Voltaire in Amarillo.

I've got the rest in Corpus Christi(2 hours from San Antonio); Revenge from Mars, Star Wars EP1, No Fear, Star Trek TNG, Xenon, T3, and Mayfair...most are folded up and unplayable right now.

I'll be at the Convention Center--not sure where that is relative to the waterfront.  I'll be attending SolidWorks World.

I went twice in years past, & they always have a grand evening party once during the conference.

In Vegas, we went to the speedway & beat on Enterprise rental cars on an autocross course, raced karts, & instructors took us on the banked oval at 120mph or so (also in rental cars).

In New Orleans, we went to Mardi Gras World, where we saw old floats & float parts, listened to bands, drank, & played beat up video games & pinball machines.

I wonder what they'll come up with for San Antonio...

Thanks,
-Jason
