Quick question. I have a Happ Competition joystick that I'm getting ready to cut holes for, and think it would fit in the control panel better if I mount the plate vertically, instead of horizontally. I wanted to find out if there are any functional considerations that might affect which way the joystick is mounted?

No.

I don't think we've argued about which is the proper way (horizontal or vertical). Thanks for opening that can of worms!

I have the joysticks mounted vertically on the cab I play while lying in bed. ::snicker::
Oh, you mean you're rotating the base 90*....doesn't matter.
One direction is the same as any other.
-
As long as you map the keys in the correct direction... :lol

Hurm. I've just got to thinking - since the bolts will be visible from the top, I guess it depends on what I think looks best for mounting. My cab won't have too much surface art, per se, so they'll be more than visible... No chance in 'hiding them' within the artwork.
Gah. Choices, choices.

I never realized that HappComp has a this side up sticker on them? How do you know you're putting it in sideways?

a) "That's what she said."
b) I was considering mounting my joysticks on the sides where the pinball buttons go.
c) It's 90 degrees from the way it should be, which is [insert your way here].
d) Shut up.
e) All of the above.
Please choose one.
