Hello, long time since I posted on this forum. Anyway about two years ago I built my wall mounted touch screen juke and never got around to documenting it. It measures 18 1/2 W X 24 H X 4 D. I used a 15 inch elo touch screen, an atom motherboard processor combo, pico power supply a mini AMP from china and 4x7 inch car speakers (I think... could be smaller, this was two years ago) Anyway it sounds and works great... looks OK. I wish I could build like the best guys here, but I just have a jigsaw, router and table saw to work with. One day I would like to rip it apart and rebuild the thing out of 1/2 inch black plexi. All in all this was an exercise in cramming as much as possible into as small a form factor as I could. It runs silent and very cool. The open top and bottom are all I need to vent it. The pico power supply generates virtually no heat and makes no noise at all. The only fan is the one on the MB.. and I replaced it with a very silent one. The laptop harddrive is pretty silent as well. The design is sound... just wish I could have executed it better.

Tell me more on this China Amp? To run car audio equipment you need 12volts DC, and the speakers are 4ohm (unlike home which is 8ohm).
Does the amp take 110ac and convert to 12voltdc output then?
Price? availability?

It's like a little T-amp. This one had some sort of Bose component. This particular pink one is the only one I found that could run at both 4 ohm and 8 ohm.. which is why I bought it as I hadn't settled on the speakers at the time. I am not seeing them on E-bay at the moment, but perhaps you might find them. There were tons of them on ebay back in 2009.

Here are the specks... sorry it runs on 4 or 2 ohms. I was planning on using car speakers the entire time. Most of those lepai T amps should do a good job though.

aww I see now. So basically you are just taking a small amp with inputs for low-band audio signals, pushing out to 4ohm speakers... Though it looks like that example on Ebay is only 20watts per side?
Could be decent.. but I would like a bit more wattage and more clearer RMS if possible. I will look around.

Yep. Trying to keep everything in as small a package as possible meant sacrificing some sound quality. I mean the size of the speakers I could fit in there was the most limiting factor for me in that regards. I was simply hoping to make it sound as good as a quality boom box. It actually sounds pretty decent, better than I expected actually, though it's not as nice as my surround sound obviously. I could have wired the room up with speakers, but I just wanted something to listen to in the kitchen is all.

What is the box made out of ?

MDF, covered in Melamine. It's not as easy to work with as I thought it would be, you need a router to cut it clean.
