Title: Painting cabinet with black lacquer

A recent thread in RGVAC about painting a Galaga cabinet revealed that they were pained with lacquer as opposed to gloss paint.

Has anyone tried this?

Wouldn't surprise me a bit, lacquer would be my first choice for a paint to use on MDF.
