Title: button wiring
Post by: cyberduck16 on October 20, 2010, 04:10:57 pm
hi
i have a cocktail table which i am in the process of turning to Mame. i have got to wiring the joy stick and buttons.
i rushed in to it and what i have done is instead of wiring the negatives in to each microswitch i have taken them individually from each switch in to a brass block with screw terminals on it. my question is will this still work? provided i wire one negative from the block to the usb board. i have ordered an ipac ve for this project and really hoping i dont have to rewire the buttons.

thanks in advance

That is if the negatives you are referring to are the common Ground.  It is all good if so wired.

If it is common in the switch wiring it is always the ground.

Yes it will work, you just did it the hard way instead of daisy chain. No worries.
