Title: WG K7000 Monitor goes dim
Post by: henryc on October 19, 2010, 06:23:27 pm
This is weird but my 25" K7000 monitor works fine for a few hours then goes dim afterwards, I tried adjusting my screen on the flyback but after a few hours the same problem would reoccur. Anyone knows what this problem is?

I would think it needs a new flyback but thats just my guess

If you're adjusting the Screen setting "up" each time and it repeats the same problem, do you eventually get as far as the adjustment travels?  If so, what do you do to get it to be visible again?

Wonder if your Brightness (Black Level) pot (on remote board likely) is dirty?  A lot of people on here recommend swiping the troublesome pot all the way left and then right several times in case dust or crud is causing poor contact.

Have you capped the chassis before?

Also, you can visually inspect the bottom of the monitor chassis and look for bad (cold) solder joints and maybe try reflowing any you think look suspicious and also the joints under the flyback transformer.

double check the grid lines to the crt/skt
dirty crt pins can also be a problem...

also check r93/94/95

I don't think it's dirty crt pins since it works normally for a specific amount of time. I've checked the chassis for cold solder also, don't see any. Maybe this is related to C57 or the +B voltage, hrm.

Does your flyback have white knobs ?

It has black knobs, they feel sort of loose for the screen part. There is no component besides the flyback transformer that causes this issues?
