Title: PIN CRAZY build with hyperpin frontend. Update nov 27,2010
Post by: maddags on October 18, 2010, 06:59:09 pm
started with the computer about 2 weeks ago here are the specs:

i7 2.93G chip
ASUS P7P55D-E motherboard
corsair 8GB DDR3 Ram
NVIDIA GTX460 1GB X 2

I'm using a LG 42" for the playfield, Dynex 26" for the backglass display and a 19" Dell monitor that I had Lying around for the DMD display.

My Widebody Lockdown bar came in last week, so I started building.... (my woodworking skills are not the greatest).

Here are some Pics, please let me know what you think....

The only problem that I have run into so far is setting up the multiple display's.

The DMD display's properly and the playfield, the problem that I'm having is that on the second monitor the image is being pushed over by the hyperpin main page.  But when I click on the backglass image it display's properly?

Can't figure it out, so I think a fresh start might be in order, going to reinstall win7(64) and start from scratch.  Hopefully this fix's the problem.

Note: that the DMD is showing on the backglass monitor because I had disconected it to trouble shoot.  2nd pic is when I clicked on the backglass image.

Well building has progressed slowly as work is getting in my my lol.

But i did get the monitor decased and did a test fit. Fits perfectly, going to need just a small bezel which won't be too bad.

Also got some of the wiring done. Also added a key swicth, so you need the key turned on to power the cabinet. Not really needed but i had one. And I'm going to order the LED-Wiz to controll lights and the concators as chriz99 is testing on his cabinet.(great build).

Also should recieve my artwork from gameongraphix by next week.
Also going to tackle the monitor problem, after i get everything installed.

Here are some picts.

Nice build you got there maddags. Very nice artwork, was it easy applying it?

These virtual pinball builds looks really tempting. If i get the opportunity to buy a pinball cab i just think i might have to try this myself.

Well, I have my monitor problems all fixed now!!! thank GOD.

Did a bit more wiring and added the power supply's to get ready for the arrival of the LED-Whiz and the contactors. Going to replace the single led buttons with RGB pushbuttons. Which means more wirring, but that's okay.

Mounted all the monitors and tested a few tables...It's all comming together.

Here are some progress pict's. What do ya think so far.

Sorry about the quality of pictures there from my cell phone..

Well a small update, as work has been busy.

Recieved my RGB pushbuttons, Leaf switches and the LED-Whiz from GGG the other day.

Installed 5 RGB pushbuttons and the LED-Whiz and cleaned up some of the wiring.

Also recieved my concators from europe this week, So need to mount and wire them up.

Placed an order for the CREE led's and then I should be done wirring.

Next steps are

   - Install concators
   - Make bezel for both monitors
   - Install LED's on the backbox
   - Mount side rails
   - install playfield glass
   - install speaker grill covers
   - make instruction cards
   - etc

I have one question regarding the LED-Whiz from GGG.

Is it possible to supply two different voltages to it from to different sources, ( 5v from a seperate PSU power supply and one from a dedicated 12V supply.  How would you ground them?

Here are some picts

nice progress so far!

you can drive your ledwiz (v2, small chips) with up to 4 different voltages (bank 1-4).

Right, but I'm using two different power supply's.  Would i just hook each ground from the power supply's to the LED-wiz ground terminal?
