Title: Ikari Warriors stick on Mame cabinet
Post by: tagnetti on August 11, 2003, 11:40:31 pm
Hello all , would it be possible to add an Ikari warriors stick to a mame cabinet for games that require that 12 way rotation and shooting simultaneously?

If so would I need a mouse hack or something? Not sure but I would like to add it to my CP redesign.

Thanks

You will need Druin's interface.

Great , thanks a million. This will work nicely. Any thoughts on where to find the ls30 at a reasonable price?

I am wondering, can you use Xybots sticks for these rotational games? They twist right and left, but don't rotate.

yeah, you can, because in mame you define two buttons to rotate left and right.  xybots joystick is just 2 buttons.

The only problem with that then would become playability....you wouldn't be able to twist the stick fast enough compared to rotating a rotary style of stick.

I thought about this also when I had the opportunity to buy some Xybot sticks hella cheap, but I just decided to run with the rotaries instead.

yeah, the xybots stick is no different than assigning two buttons on your cp to rotate.
