"Over 750 games in total

Mario, Zelda, Pokémon: these are all good themes for charity marathons, and have raised countless thousands of dollars for a range of charities. Playing every game in a particular series back-to-back is a big accomplishment, but how would you feel about playing every game available for a single console? If that console's the NES and you're Pat the NES Punk, you'd probably want to do that.

Starting on Saturday, October 16th, the 8-bit loving punk will be playing every NES game back-to-back, taking in over 750 titles in order to raise money for the Child's Play charity. It's all in celebration of the NES's 25th anniversary, a gaming milestone we at Nintendo Life will be celebrating in our own special fashion.

The charity marathon kicks off on Saturday, October 16th at 3pm EST, 12pm PST, and can be seen streamed live on a range of websites including Screw Attack."

I want to play...  ...if only for "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde"!

neat idea, but kind of really lame considering that 750 games in 24 hours is just under 2 minutes per game, its going to be like this: pop in game, load it, play for like 45 seconds.  Pop out game, put in game, repeat.  Not really playing anything IMHO

Heh.  I thought of that too.  I'm assuming they're using the newer top loading version.

Actually, concerning the flashing issue.  I just confirmed with the Retroware guys that he will indeed be using the ORIGINAL NES for this.  However, he upgraded the faulty design issue with a new 3rd party connector that grasps the contacts more snugly, thus eliminating the flashing issues of the prior design.

aaaaaaaactually the flashing issue is the 10NES security chip sync problem (GTFOT).... why not just chop it off and be done with it...granted the connector is 1/2 of the problem.

raped from wikipedia:
Quote
Problems with the 10NES lockout chip frequently resulted in the console's most infamous problem: the blinking red power light, in which the system appears to turn itself on and off repeatedly because the 10NES would reset the console once per second. The lockout chip required constant communication with the chip in the game to work.

P.S. the 2nd generation NES did away with the chip...for obvious reasons.

I replaced my pin connector in my nes by buying a new one on ebay.  It wasn't expensive (maybe 5 bucks) and it comes with instructions on fixing it.  Pretty easy.  I recommend everyone replace it on their NES.  Works like new..
