Title: star wars cab, monitor help needed
Post by: tony.silveira on October 07, 2010, 10:46:18 pm
hi all,

i just sold my star wars arcade stand up to someone last night, i have never had a problem with the machine before.

he got the machine home, plugged it in and everything was fine.  he then moved it over to it's new corner.  i just got a call and he's saying the monitor is not coming on.  everything powers on except the monitor, he can hear the game start up and go into game play.

i'm thinking something came loose, i fuse may have popped out, something that would be a simple fix.

like i said, i've NEVER had a problem with the machine before and thought maybe someone could help me diagnose this remotely.

fyi, the machine has been modded to play empire strikes back also at the flick of a switch, if that might make a difference.

thanks, tony

You answered your own question. He moved it. He knocked something loose. Or a fuse popped. What more can we say really?

i know.  i was just wondering if there might be a common fuse/wire that other star wars owners might know about so that i could give him some advise as to where to look.

Open the back up and check the fuse panel.  If there's one blown, he could replace it, but it blew for a reason.  He needs to look at the wiring and make sure everything is plugged in and there aren't any wires touching things they shouldn't.  No easy answer other than hiring someone to do the work and grabbing a beer.
