Title: Help with Nvidia TV Overscan
Post by: ptinolv on October 04, 2010, 05:47:09 pm
Hello everybody,

I have now an nvidia 9800GT on my cab and I am having trouble with the overscan on my 27" CRT screen. My graphic card is plugged to the TV via the S-video output.

When i installed it, i had an overscan. I could fix it using the Nvidia Control Panel, but as soon as I would reboot the computer, the overscan would be back. I solved the problem by adding a script at start up. My problem now is that everytime a program runs fullscreen in a resolution different from the one i am using (800x600), the options seem to be reset and the overscan is back (in the program and after when i close the program). For instance i cannot display properly Super Mario War because it only runs at 640x480.

I tried powerstrip and read a lot of forum, but i didn't find a good solution. Has anyone experienced a problem similar ?

Thanks

It is a dirty fix , but i wrote vbs script that monitors changes in the resolution , and fixes the overscan as soon as it changes.

I am still hoping to find a more elegant solution.
