Title: Ghosts n Goblins restoration, question before purchase, is this it?
Post by: xmod on October 03, 2010, 09:25:23 pm
Hi everyone,

Just wondering about a purchase I am about to make, wanted to restore this cool classic, almost just a screen repair.
I have looked on the net for pics and info about it BUT none of them look like this, so I was curious to know if it is original or not?

(http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/7871/52627ia20.th.jpg) (http://img266.imageshack.us/i/52627ia20.jpg/)
(http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/6403/8036ah320.th.jpg) (http://img691.imageshack.us/i/8036ah320.jpg/)

the side art does not look like a ghosts n goblins machine, but I just can't confirm anything since it does not look like the ones i see on the net.

they all look like this from google searches

any ideas whats what ?

thanks

Looks to me like you have a Kick Man cabinet that's been remade into a Ghosts & Goblins.

I'd restore it back into the Kick Man. It's a great old game.

Not sure if G&G came out in a dedicated cab....

If the price is right, that could be a great project to convert back to Kick or Kickman.  Side art looks to be in great shape.  The control panel can be fixed and re-screened with the correct art.  I've got an extra bezel and Kick buttons if you decide to go for it.  I also know a source for the inner bezel art.

While his cabinet side art is intact, he's also got to remount the monitor vertically in the bottom of the cabinet, install the reflecting mirror, and cross his fingers the unique "interior" art is still intact.

AFAIK GnG never came out in a dedicated cabinet. Just conversion kits.

Yeah, you're right.  I forgot about the reflected monitor in this cab.

Finding all of the GnG parts and art you will need to make this machine a GnG is going to cost you some scratch.

How can you kick balloons while on a unicycle?   ???

Why am I even asking that question!

Here's another one:  How can you have a never-ending supply of burning torch fireballs (or axes for that matter) in a diaper?

It's actually quite fun.  Just take your feet off the pedals and kick on both sides to keep your balance.  ;D

Here is a good reference photo that shows the "interior" art that you could see on the sides and through the mirror:
