Title: Updated from 71 to 72 I have sound but screen is black

BTW this is Mame 32. I don't know what went wrong as I've updataed plenty of times without a problem. One thing I don't understand is that right before I extracted the new version, winzip told me that this is a read only file and do I still want to extract it ? Obviously it won't run on a read only file but why was it a read only file ? How do I change it ? I downloaded the file again,put it in a new folder and then moved my roms and samples into there new folders.I refreshed it and even reset all game properties to default. I'm still getting a blank screen like the whole program is crashing. I hit credit and start and I hear the game but picture is black. Any ideas ? ???

Yes - Don't use MAME32 :)

Yeh but its not as bad as it used to be. They keep adding more features plus I'm a tart when it comes to pc's :-\

I've gotta agree here.  Mame32 screws with your registry, which very well could be your problem considring the wierd file properties you are getting.
