Title: television issues
Post by: orchidius on September 26, 2010, 09:42:33 am
Hi there,

Ive been working on my first project for about a month now, and today was "install the tv with the SCART cable"-day. I made a shelf to put the tv on, tested the tv one last time, decharged it again and mounted it into the cab, onto the shelf. I used metal mounting strips to attach the bottom two corners (the frame of the tv has metal O-shaped nuts in the corners) to the wooden shelf. I screwed the circuit board onto a small wooden beam I made for it. I did have to lengthen one cable in order for everything to fit. I did however made extra sure it was no special cable, and used the exact same type of cable to make the extension. I double checked the soder joints, and everything was fine.

When everything was done however, the tv refused to work.

I makes the silent buzzing noise those older tv's make when turned on, but it won't give me any image.

Does anybody know what the problem could be or what I could do to help it? Or even anything I could check to find the cause?

I did, ofcourse... I noticed just now that the light on the end of the tube had some loose contacts and I unplugged it. I'm going to test those ends now, just to exclude that as well...
