i'm getting this error now when coming to BYOAC
-
I posted about the same thing. (Random Error) was the subject.
-
Same forum, or different forums each time? What versions of IE are you both running? Are you viewing this site in compatibility mode?
-
ie 8 (win 7). I have not done any changes at all.
If the Error window comes up. I click OK then click BACK and it's like everything is OK but FREEZES. It's like SERVER just CRASH and get the DIAGNOSE the Problem screen.
-
right ATM it looks like its working again.
What I did is just click the Compatibily mode and click it again (to Normal).
Let me see if the Ramdom error went away.
-
thats was quick. I still got another error.
-
It really seems like it has to have something to do with the server. I don't get this problem on any other website and sometimes I get the error constantly and I basically give up trying to browse BYOAC. Other times it just comes and goes for a second and everything is fine.
-
I'm running through the basic maintenance things on the forum now. Looking for error logs too.
-
If this keeps up, I'm going to demand a refund...

I know, right?
Question - if you're reliably getting these errors, can you switch to Firefox or another browser than IE for a while, and see if the errors are still happening?
-
Chrome is working fine so far. I'm sure it's an IE8 thing but it seems like it is related to communication with the server. Maybe IE8 is more sensitive to a true problem that exists?
-
Hey Thenasty,
Try this. Go into tools->internet options->security and click the "default level" button and see if things clear up.
I did this an so far no problems.
Saint, I want 6 months of membership fees refunded!!!!
-
Bah, nevermind...that lasted a whole 3 minutes and now I'm having trouble again.
-
Why am I getting crazystanian ads from google too?
-
No freaking idea.
-
still getting ramdon (diff..ones) errors.
-
something I notice is that, once I get the error (then I click the back button), everything will be ok (in this site) but if I try to goto any web sites, it won't go.
This only happens in BYOAC site. I can go to anywhere but if I come here then get the error, I can no longer goto any sites.
If I close IE, get msg that It's busy, do I want to close it anyway.
-
Is anyone else having this issue?
Do the two of you have this issue if you use a different computer? It's almost as if some code on the page is hosing it out.
-
I fired up XP and have been surfing BYOAC for about 20' now using IE8 (I usually use FF whether I am on my Macs or PCs).
So far I've not run into the problem the others are seeing.
IE8 is set to "medium" security for the internet zone, fwiw.
-
I tried messing with all sorts of security settings and nothing helped.
-
But consistently it's only happening in IE on your machines?
-
I was in Google doing some Street MAP and error pop up. So it's not only BYOAC web page now. :banghead:
-
You cannot view, access, or load some webpages in Internet Explorer 8 or Internet Explorer 9 Beta

-
When it happens, it pops up the error dialog and once you close it, it takes you to the "Diagnose Connection" page. When I run the diagnostics, it says everything is fine.
-
hmmm.. seems like it's working now. I did a manual update (notice that lat update I did was 11/2009, which is wierd).
I had 69 (200+MB) of windows update and the Adove Flash update too.
I'll keep testing if it fixed. So far so good.... :applaud:
-
I really think that did it, unless Saint found a fix.
I'll keep my fingers cross for the next couple of days :applaud: :applaud:
-
Not me :)
-
Saint's just a guy in an India call center. To get any real tech support on this forum you need to go to the owner.
I gave up and switched to Chrome. I like it better that IE.

I don't think it was fixed by your update. I tried IE8 again and it's been working fine. Seems like whatever the issue was, it cleared up or India fixed it.
-
I *did* run various forum maintenance tools, but I believe you were still getting the error after I did so. I haven't done anything since then.
On the other hand... meh :dunno :)
-
I'm convinced that ALL IS DANDY FINE now..... Whatever it was, it's a GONNER :applaud: :applaud:
