This is a weird question, so let me flesh out the situation
I joined a gym called crossfit http://www.crossfitsantacruz.com/ (http://www.crossfitsantacruz.com/)
Partly to lose weight, health reasons, and because my clothes fits a lot tighter now-a-days. I blame this on stress from grad school, learning to live with another person, and everything else I can.
Anyways, sometimes I won't have access to a shower after the workouts, is there anything I can do other than deodorant to not smell? Do those body sprays work? Any one in particular that doesn't smell too "cheap"? I've been thinking about those axe body sprays.
-
Covering up funk with a body spray makes you smell like a perfumed funk. I actually find the scent of someone covered in body spray to be more offensive, makes it hard for me to breathe.
Go sponge off in the bathroom if nothing else?
-
lol..................
body spray and stuff wont do you any good. what kind of gym doesn't have shower?
axe or whatever work fine but they are for every day use. not a substitute for showering :dizzy:
-
How bad is the funk? Is it stank, or is it wetness? Im with Saint, I would rather smell BO then a bunch of chemicals. Luckliy I never had that problem, but a buddy of mine did. He read an article saying to put cornstarch in your pits after you dry your arms off after a work out. Says it stopped the smell. I dont know how strong your pits are though... :dunno

You need to figure out a way to shower after working out. That is the only answer.
-
punch everyone you meet in the nose.
-
If you fart a lot
it will be difficult to discern your B.O from the gas.
-
Ha ha ha ha .. I particularly like the punching and fart idea.
Well, I wouldn't be going to meetings after. It's downtown and I figured I might as well take advantage and spend some time studying in a coffee shop. The gym requires you to do training before you start so you know how to use the equipment and proper form. Just from that training session, I was dripping sweat. I know I'm out of shape and all but I do jog and do some weights when I can. While I was being trained I saw a real class (there's always a trainer there) and they were alternating between running, squats with a barbell behind their back, and sit ups. The goal was to take No breaks and do as many reps as you could for like an hour. I imagine i'll smell pretty bad.
Maybe drying off really well, corn starch in the arm pits might do the job.
Did I mention I bike to the gym? If I bike to a meeting on campus i'll definitely have to shower, it's all up hill (I live on campus in family housing).

buy some baby wipes n just wipe your self down in certain smelly areas like armpits and your crotch. Also buy babypowder, after workout put it in your underwear, shoes and dab a bit in your armpits.
-
I suggest you shave your armpit hair to stop the smell being so bas and as suggested use some baby wipes or another type even just a cloth with water will help alot
Shaving the hair won't stop the BO but it will stop the bacteria that makes the BO smell get attached to the hair and make it stronger than needed.
Also a alcohol pad used to wipe down will help kill the bacteria too

all that or a quick shower :embarassed:

I don't have access to a shower, so the choices are (keep in mind I will only have access to a mountain bike because my wife uses the car)
1. Bike to fitness center (downhill)
2. work out
3. Stay downtown and study at coffee shop (I get really distracted at home)
or
1. Bike to fitness center (downhill about 15 mins)
2. work out
3. Ride bicycle up hill home to shower (about 45 mins)
4. Ride bike downhill again (15 mins)
5. Study
6. Ride bike uphill again (45 mins), get sweaty again

I think the Baby Wipes is gona have to do the trick. If they can clean poo, they should be able to do the job heh (and or faucet Sponge bath)
I dont think Id recommend shaving the pits however. The hair helps to absorb
the sweat, and dissipate it slowly over time. Cut it off, and sweat will pour like giant
tears down your body and all over your clothing. It would be very annoying and
uncomfortable.
Wipe the pits down again, dry them, then re-apply antiperspirant. (not Deodorant, as
that only masks oder. Antiperspirant will help stop perspiration altogether)
Also, a friend of mine once suggested I pick up a natural product. It was a sort of
deodorant that was made of seasalt I think. I think its made by TOMS, Ive seen it
in many local grocery stores. It was interesting, and would have lasted
forever... but I didnt like how the sweat still dripped - even though it didnt seem to
smell. You could use this however, on the body before working out. I believe the salt
kills / keeps bacteria from forming... thus no smells.
You will also need foot powder in your shoes too... unless you are bringing a
2nd pair+socks, which is a good idea.
A good cologne will also be better than body spray. I prefer Stetson. I get complements
even when its strong... which isnt something you will get wearing something awful
like OldSpice, or Brute, which smells cheap & chemical-ish. (overpowering even in
low quantity)

Really?? The main issue is that you get too distracted at home to study?? Maybe you should just learn to be a little more responsible and study at home.
--or--
Here's a crazy idea, why don't you:
1) Bike to coffee shop (downhill)
2) Study
3) Bike to gym and workout
4) Bike home as smelly as you want and get a friggin shower
