OK, I picked up a Hard Drivin' from Birdtales. The video looked great when I picked it up, but during the rough ride to it's new happy home something got screwed up...
I plug it in, then this................
any ideas, i'm thinking it's a Cap. problem, but not sure....
p.s. - The blur is from my camera, not the screen....

The clue is in your message "rough ride". Open the cabinet powered down of course and check ALL the connections on all the boards unplug them one at a time and plug them back in check the rgb connector on the monitor unplug and replug. That should help because if the machine was working before the ride is sounds like something wiggled it's way loose. Don't want to nag but after any move you should before powering up open the cabinet and check for loose connectors/loose bolts/quarters that have wormed out of their hiding spots and landed on the transformer.

Already checked for lose objects. Opened the back up again, and double checked the rgb connection on the board and on the monitor, they're tight.
I tried to isolate the problem and removed the rgb connection and then powered the unit on. Same display, just green..(see attached.) This is the first time I have worked with a monitor and I'm REALLY green, so a point in the right direction would be great. I could discharge the tube and take the chassis out, but I wouldn't be sure where to go from there.... thanks.

Have you tried adjusting out the pots on the remote board (the one attached to the long wire harness)? I replaced one of those pots shortly before you took it and maybe they just need to be tweeked back in. The one I replaced was vertical size.

Ok, adjusted the Vsize pot.
Turned all the way in one direction made the screen thinner. All the way in the other direction, screen is as seen in the other pictures...
Would it be better to pull the monitor and board out of the cab and run some tests???? (ARGH !!! ELECTICITY !!!!)

Might want to ask on RGVAC with a link to the picture. Maybe they have a clue. I'm pretty sure that's a 25" Wells Gardner 7000 series monitor.

** UPDATE **
Just wanted to let anyone who was wondering, that I found the problem with the monitor. As Birdtales pointed out, he had replaced the V-size pot on the remote board; well, when I had a real chance to look things over, I noticed that one of the solder points had popped loose... resoldered it and PRESTO !!! WE HAVE VIDEO !!!!.... Thanks to everyone for the help.

I think they had a Race Drivin' go at the last auction for $50 :P.. don't know where I was on that one.. but oh, well, both of those games are freakin' huge :o

Well... it is heavy... I don't have the Sit down cab, I have the upright sit-at one.... Thanks to Birdtales....
BTW.... The kids are having a blast with it... keeps them busy while I work on the other cab....

They made an upright sit-at version? Cool.. I would pick up one of those if I saw it, but not the full SD :/
Still, too bad about the Race Drivin'.. never played that in arcades and it looked like a lot more fun than Hard Drivin' (except for the cow, obviously :D).

Close enough.. I really like this kind of cab, they give you the space advantage of a sit-down with a nice built-in seat like a SD.. I wonder why they didn't make more games in this style..?
I have an APB like that.. but as that game is f'n famous for: no sideart, no seat :'(.. funny how that game goes for mad cash with both but with neither you can't give working ones away :/

I don't know if that's the correct term, but this is a pic from KLOV of it.
I think that one is called "compact" in MAME, and the sit-down one is called "cockpit". I don't know what the differences are, if any, in the ROM sets.
Getting more off-topic for the monitor/video forum I'm afraid, but I have a couple of questions if you don't mind nighthawk:

Well....
1 - The wheel is a 360 with a force feedback type motor attached. You have to calibrate it each time when the box is powered up (I need to replace the 2 ROMS which have batteries on them) so you have to turn it 4 times them center it, then the wheel acts sort of like a 270 with force feedback. There are no locks on the wheel, you are bond by the friction of the belt which does the feedback. (hope that makes sence..)
2 - On this one, there is no Reverse gear. I believe that the cockpit might have had it.

I think I understand what you are saying about the wheel; if the belt was removed it would rotate freely (like a "spinner"), but with the belt on, from a "hard" left to a "hard" right there are 4 complete turns of the wheel (1440

No it will spin forever in one direction. It requires 4 rotations to calibrate it not to roll it till it stops.
