im using the newest version of mame.. i ordered an aimtrak for my cab but like i can't seem to get any of the roms to work except the area 51 and maximum force duo... like ive tried a million diff downloads of lethal enforcers with no luck.. alien 3.. no luck.. ive tried downloading from different sites as far as i know there is no chd needed.. i dont know what i'm doing wrong..

it's hard to tell exactly what's wrong when the only description is that "they didn't work". Do the games load and lock up? Do they load but your gun doesn't control the game? Is MAME telling you perhaps that you have bad or missing ROMs, and if so which ones and what checksum is it expecting? Those details will hopefully clue someone in as to what you need to try next.

Simple guess is that your rom version doesn't match the version of Mame that you are running.

Alien 3 was broken for me with actlab guns, but when I ran an updated or got an older (can't remember) version of MAME it worked again. The guns simply would fire at the bottom of the screen constantly. Worked perfectly for every other gun game though. I got a different version of MAME and bam, Alien 3 worked perfectly.
I don't know if that's what the problem is for you. Also, not sure if the ones you are using require other roms. For instance metal slug also requires the neogeo.zip.

yeah i mean they just dont load u know like where it won't load all the files.. it says missing rom or chd file or whatever and then doesnt start up.. and none of them are neo geo games so i dont think its that i'm missing a bios file... im using the current version of mame so i would think the roms would work.. but i mean im trying multiple versions to get it to work.. no luck

There are still parent roms, for most games. For instance say you are using alien3u.zip (Alien 3 US), you still need alien3.zip (Alien 3 World).
A good resource to check to see if you have the appropriate parent roms is http://maws.mameworld.info/maws/ (http://maws.mameworld.info/maws/)
That seems to be what is going on. Make sure you have all bios and parent roms.

i mean i have that.. like the base one thats a couple megabytes.. and then i tried the other versions too to find one that works.. and i have the komani bios file for lethal enforcers... its put in the roms folder...

Tried the current release of Mame and Lethal Enforcers kicked out an error about missing an nlv file or something close. Went and tried an older version of Mame and it worked just fine. If you are getting rom errors then get the most current rom to match your Mame or back off and use and older version. I think LE has been fairly stable since about .80 or so.
