Title: JLW vs Original Donkey Kong stick
Post by: wweumina on September 14, 2010, 08:39:43 am
OK, so I know the JLW is a damn good 4-way.  It plays Donkey Kong great and I have not intention of replacing it really (though I have a habit of buying things just to check them out and I'm tempted to grab a True4 from GGG just for the heck of it when I next order something from them).

What I don't know is how it compares to the original DK stick.  Does anyone have (or has used) both?  How does the throw, spring, shaft length and 'clickiness' compare?  We don't have too many (any?) original cabs over here is Aus so it's a bit tough to know without trying to track one down that would be better off on a proper machine.

i'd be curious to know this as well.  i use a JLW as a 4way stick and it is fantastic, I can't imagine any joystick feeling/working better than this

Agreed. I have player 2 set to 4 way for Donkey Kong and leave player 1 at 8 way...feels great to me and I only ever change it to 8 way when playing Robotron where I need player 2 8 way.

Id be curious as well :)

I had a nos wico 4way leaf stick in my dk cab... it was really crappy.   Way too stiff, the jlw is way better
