Title: CRT out of case stopped working
Post by: GoTheBunnies on September 14, 2010, 07:10:56 am
Hi all,

Picked myself up a nice 21' flatscreen Samsung CRT to put in a new cocktail cab build.

Hooked it up to the PC - great picture, all good.

I then took it out of its casing in preparation for installation into the cab. Hooked it up to the PC again - and no picture. Checked all the connections about 100 times, and apart from one of the many ground wires that had become disconnected (which I reconnected), it all looks fine. It's getting power - the LED on the power button lights up when I press it - just no picture.  What could I have possibly done??

Thanks

Does it fire up, but no picture, or is there nothing at all?

Maybe there's a safety switch somewhere so that it can't run if the cover is off? Wild guess.

yes check the outer edges of the main board, there may be a switch that the cover presses on when it's properly secured.

ive found a few like that. especially when you get to the bigger monitors 20" and up.

Thanks for the replies, but I don't think that's the problem - I've got power (I hear it click when I power it up, and the green LED light on the front power switch is lit when I press it).  Power, but no picture.......
