Title: Aimtrak sensor bar position
Post by: Valken on September 12, 2010, 05:46:01 pm
Hi mates, I've a question for you:
Is it possible to mount aimtrak sensor bar under the monitor instead of above it as reported in the user manual?

I'm not an aimtrak owner but id'd like to buy one and I'm wondering if it could be a good idea to mount the sensor bar (with a shell) under the control panel of my cab (see the attached picture) and take it out and lean it on the cp (that is fastened with velcro and very easy to open) only when I want to play lightgun-games.

My understanding was that the bar wants to be as close to the top of your screen as possible so once they release the bar with cover, you could easily velcro just above the screen. I'm in a similar boat. I have a greylite glass bezel so it has to look nice and can't be hidden behind it

Yo'ure right, but if I fasten the sensor bar with velcro above the monitor, I have to drill the tinted plexiglass (or the marquee retainer) to let the usb cord enter into the cab.
I'm just wondering if the sensor bar does work under the monitor (like the wii s.b. does) and, if the answer is no, if ther's a way to tweak the config software or the firmware, to let it work correctrly this way...
