Title: The other guys
Post by: danny_galaga on September 10, 2010, 10:52:14 am
I enjoy most things Will ferrall and Marky mark do, so deciding to see a movie with the two of them together was a no brainer. It was also great to see Michael Keaton, it had been so long it took me a minute to remember his name! The joke about the baseball player was a weak point for non-americans, but I bet for you 'mercans it'll be a hoot. Also, for us Aussies, having someone pretend to be Aussie didn't cut it (are Aussies that bad at pretending to be Americans? I think this actor was a pom though). I do like looking at Eve mendez too, so that helped things along  ;D

The credits featured an interesting array of statistics on corporate crime and greed (AIG, Bernie Maddoff, CEO greed etc) in America, which was interesting. And after the credits is another scene, a short one that didn't make the cut.

On the good side of 3.5/5 (",)

Edit: The guy playing the Aussie is Ray Stevenson (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0829032/bio), an Irishman.

Quote
my score for recent movies you may have seen:

5/5 - Michael Clayton, In Bruges, Gran Torino, Mary and Max

4.5/5 - Taken, Iron Man, Reign Over Me

4/5 - Traitor, Bedtime Stories, Sunshine, pineapple express

3.5/5 - 300, Max Payne, You dont mess with the Zohan, Yes Man

3/5 - That new Indiana Jones flick, Disturbia, That new TMNT flick,

2.5/5 - Angels and Demons

2/5 - The Love Guru. Note: My 2 is probably someone elses 1. Just leaving room for worse!

Listen to the Mel Gibson tapes. He's pretended to be American long enough that he's lost his Aussie accent...and his mind!

Well, technically he is American since he was born here and spent the first several years of his life here....don't ask me why I know that because I couldn't tell you.

Yeah, there are a few Aussies who seem to get stuck on the  american accent. So even when they come back to Australia, they talk like that. Anthony Lapaglia comes to mind. I feel a bit embarrassed about that, but then my own aussie accent is mild in comparison to some and I wouldn't be surprised if I started to lose it if I lived in another country for a while
