Title: Hi all, I'm a noob :)

Just want to say hi to everyone and like most people I am looking to build myself a mame cabinet. I already have a P4 3gig chip and 2gb ram connected to a sony tv. Next thing is to get the os configured and then install mame.

Are there any dos and don'ts for a mame noobie at all

Hi, noob. 

Avoid this subforum and the politics and religion one until you get your cab finished.

Don't ask/read any questions comparing TVs, arcade monitors, and LCDs.

Also, finish it ALL before making it work -- my 4 year old cab is still not completely painted. :)

I think I will be in the same boat as you guys but hopefully can find some time to get the pc configured before attempting a Cab.
What seems to be common or fav cab to build?
