I have a U-Trak trackball from Ultimarc (http://www.ultimarc.com/trackball.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/trackball.html)).
When I spin it up or left, it moves perfectly. When I spin it down or right, it catches or jumps before it starts spinning, as if it isn't securely in place.
I've taken it apart a few times (something that scares me because of blind hole installation) and looked at it to make sure there's nothing wrong with it, and it seems to be fine. It's fully tightened and nothing is blocking the ball.
The trackball is still usable but there's definitely a loss of accuracy and it's a bad experience.
Can anyone recommend anything to fix the problem? I've searched the forum for people experiencing something similar but haven't found anything. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks!

mine also does something similar, its like the roller is jumping out of socket, then when it falls back its nice and smooth
I havent really had time to explore the issue
Maybe Andy can advise us about it

Take apart the housing and clean the trackball and rollers thoroughly. Re-grease the ends of the rollers to spin more freely in their fittings and all should be fine. In my experience, even the U-Trak requires some 'bedding in' so just sit and roll it a lot to break it in.
