Hello,
I'm just starting to plan out my cabinet and have bee doing lots of research. Now one of my favorite games as a kid was Ikari warriors so naturally I'd like to be able to play that on the system. However I'd like to keep the number of joysticks to a minimum on the cabinet.
If I purchased rotary joysticks are they suitable as my primary (and only in this case) joystick? Will they interfere in any way with other games? Or is the rotary portion basically ignored at that point?
Thanks in advance! :)

The rotary won't interfere with the functionality of the joystick but those sticks really are inferior to regular sticks for every day use. I would strongly advise either using them as p3/4 sticks or doing some form of modular panel for them.

thanks! You just saved me lots of grief. I'll reconsider my cpanel. ;)

I’m using the Happ Controls Top Fire Joystick as the primaries for my 2 player cab. Now that I've been playing with it for a few weeks the top fire as primaries have become more of a nuisance, they’ve really only been good for Battlezone. Over the weekend I tried to play Ikari Warriors, Frontline and Tron. I failed at trying to get a good configuration for those games and wished I had gotten rotary joysticks instead.
I found this thread and now I'm a little discouraged. Is anyone using a rotary joystick as primary joysticks, if so would they recommend others to use them?
