Title: A couple of general light-gun questions?

Hi All,

I'm just planning my first arcade cab. Firstly, would light guns work with an old PC monitor? And secondly, I was considering using perspex to cover the monitor. Would the guns work through the perspex or should I leave the screen exposed?

Initially, my cab will be quite simple with a basic 2 player control panel and possibly a track ball (funds permitting), but I would definitely want to add guns at a later date. Any general tips or pointers would be gratefully received.

Mine works fine through perspex on a CRT TV so im sure it'll be fine

There are some variables here.  Do some reading to find out about some of the options in more detail, but here's your choices:

LCD or any non-CRT TV

• LCD Top Gun
• AimTrak

TV or CRT PC monitor

• GunCon2
• LCD Top Gun
• AimTrak

Arcade monitor (15kHz, 25kHz, or 31kHz)

• GunCon2...maybe
• LCD Top Gun
• AimTrak
