I need a control panel for my latest project so i can build a cab around it will need slots for 9 buttons per player plus 2 starts 2 coin buttons a trackball 1 joystick per player and 2 4 way joysticks in other words i need wood with these holes and i need pictures of your current work willing to pay $50 w /shipping as in all together and i need t molding slots on it
oh and the 1 per player will be an 8 way joystick
oh ya sorry i use happ style and size parts except the 4 way joysticks they will definitely be from paradise arcade shop 3/4" mdf preferably
like a midway cab look dont worry ill add hinges and decals and holes all you need to do is make it with slots for 3/4" t-molding

You'll need to supply a lot more information... layouts, which controls as sizes differ, overall size desired, material etc. Personally I think you'll have a very rough time for that low a price too but YMMV.

hes right, if you use Happ they have different measurements and spacings than Sanwa. I can cut you a panel, if you add the holes... How wide and deep do you need it? Do you want 3/4" or 1/2" MDF, OSB, Particle board....???
You really just cant cut holes until you have the buttons and sticks in hand...

willing to pay $50 w /shipping as in all together
You will need to provide your location, since a good courier company is going to eat a lot of your payout right there. If you're asking for someone to ship you a control panel, the shipping and insurance will likely come out to close to what you're willing to pay, regardless of the location. I work for a Courier Company in Canada, and even if I was to ship something locally, given the size, weight and insurance, I guarantee it would be pretty pricey.
I might recommend reevaluating your offer.
-
Concur with Elphi and the others. I wouldn't bite (or even nibble) for $50 shipped. That's probably close to getting the CP for free after shipping, ins. etc.
-
courier company... no dude im talk us postal no shipping insurance with bubble wrap

What does that cost for an oversize, 10-20lb package, within your own city? Have you checked?
-
This thread is completely baffling to me.
Anybody who can't build the CP in question, most certainly can't build a cabinet around it, so I would be wary. You MUST know the specific hardware, along with placement in order to deliver anything other than a piece of wood with some holes and a slot for T-Molding.
And for $50 shipped ? ---fudgesicle--- that.
andrew -- take some time to describe what you are looking to accomplish and EXACTLY what you want provided. People can help, but your specifications are pretty much useless at this point. At the VERY least, you need to specify a base size and give some indication of how the control panel will be situated. Button layouts are important (1x9,3x3 ????) Also, WHICH trackball can be important.
-
its actually 50 im payin you to ship it as a 14.50 priority mail shipped price so actually your getting 35 dollars and im looking to build for a midway style cabinet with a midway style control panel i can't do the arches or edges on it if that makes sense
-
Look. I'm not flaming you, honest. I really, really, really want to help you out here, but you're not making it easy. You need to tell people where you are. I hate to tell you, but if you're in New York, and someone builds it for you in California, your $14.50 price is out the window. Check here (http://postcalc.usps.gov/). If you put in different Zip Codes, the price changes. Also, don't forget you're working with larger dimensions, which changes the price. I put in New York to New York, at 15lbs, and 24"x12"x4", and it gave me around the $14.50. When I put in the same digits to California, it changed to over $30.
As CheffoJeffo said, please provide a bit more information...

That is clearer, BUT it is important to note which type of Midway cabinet you are talking about. For many (most?), you are talking about a Pac/Galaga/MsPac/Galaxian/Bosconian cabinet and there is no way to get that many control on there. Further, the panels for those cabs are typically metal and are L-shaped in the cross-section, which complicates things.
Here is a matching panel including 1 joystick, 3 buttons for P1 and a trackball:

Is that the size panel that you mean ?
-
i was actually talking a real midway game not a reproduction in us game i was thinking more like mortal kombat 3 style
edit: Screw it ill look for a free one

I'm out!

You see, that's where you start off being wrong.
That panel is designed to fit the original (and REAL!!!!!!!) Midway cabinets, which is what most people in this hobby tend to think of when you say Midway cabinet.
Are you starting to see the issues with your complete lack of specifics ? Stop being a lazy child and put at least some modicum of effort into this.
In any event, you aren't going to find anybody who will build and ship a panel of that size for less than $100, unless they are exceptionally generous.
The normal panels from folks like the former MAMERoom will fit that cabinet fine.
:whap
-
i guess im out then a control panel for now and im not a lazy child im an adult with aspergers
-
You aren't going to find anybody better to listen to you in this hobby than me.
I have two kids of my own with Autism, work with kids with Aspergers and Autism and would be happy to help you, but you need to be specific as to what you are going to do.
A picture of the cab would be a good start. You said that you were going to build a cab around the CP -- are you going to build or are you looking to acquire an existing cabinet ?

Next, since you have chosen 9 buttons per player, what games do you want to play ?
-
never mind man its cool ill just make one and i thought you were insulting me by calling me a lazy child so i stood up proud and said i have aspergers and if your curious neo geo and fighters plus the classics
-
But why 9 buttons ? ;)
-
8 for each player then a run button for mk3 all together 9 buttons per player
-
7 per should do ya fine, the "street fighter neogeo hybrid" Look at the ad up there for the Xarcade and remove the 2nd button in the bottom row.
-
i heard x arcade sucks and i usually use money orders much safer for me
-

Wow you guys are really nice. Here I thought this dude was being a jerk but, then he lays "aspergers" out there, I had to look it up to find out what it is. I was already irritated before he even mentioned that :lol YOure a nice guy Cheffo!
I was looking for a control panel myself bud, and there is no way you are going to get a custom one for 50 bucks shipped. Where do you live? Have you tried contacting local arcades for parts?
This forum is aweome with a lot of cool people, they have all helped me immensely in this hobby. Tell you the truth, I wouldnt be doing it if it werent for these guys! :applaud:

If someone was willing to do it for $50 plus shipping.. that was a really good deal. IMO.
you won't get any cheaper than that, plus it was nice of him to even take you up on that offer. I paid about... man I don't even want to say how much I paid for mine, but next time I'm building my own.
